How do I clean my cheese grater? I have a cheese grater with very close, tight blades. This is fine except that it takes a lot of work to clean it. When I use a dishrag or a brillo pad, the blades cut it without cleaning it. The cheese particles are still stuck inside the grater.
What is the really sharp, bumpy side on my cheese grater for? On my four sided cheese grater, there are two sides with holes that are obviously to make cheese or carrot shreds, another for slices, but there is another side that if you touch it with your finder is very sharp and the little slicers protrude outward. I cut open my finger on a cheese grater 3 weeks ago, is it infected? I was making cheese sandwiches when I was drunk and grated my knuckle, put a plaster on it and then ignored it. 3 weeks later it's swollen and painful to touch. It looks a bit like a wart to be honest and looks angry and red. Is this infected? And do I need to go get anti-biotics or something?
I was using my electric cheese grater? I was using my electric cheese grater to grate some cheese, and i fell down a hole. How much do you think i can sue them for? I'm thinking 1 million- 5 million?
What is the best cheese grater you have used or seen (not a finger or nail grater) and one that is easy clean. I use the traditional one that has different blades on four sides but always end up grating myself with it. I have also tried a mouli type but that doesn't grate very well and is difficult to clean. I have tried a mandolin type but that doesnt grate, it only slices and chips and doesn't do the last half centimeter. I also have a food processor but that is a pig to clean and doesn't grate the last bit either. Is there any new fangled, or old fashioned one you could recommend please.

tricks and tips to cleaning a cheese grater...? Doing dishes is my least favorite household chore and the cheese grater seems to be the dish that gives me the most trouble. There just isn't enough room to fit your hand inside there without getting bruise bloody knuckles or a sponge that's falling to pieces. Any ideas would be great. also any ideas for cleaning a built in cutting board. Thanks in advance!

Help me find those CHEESE GRATERS from about 20 years ago? My parents had this cheese grater that was ALL Stainless Steal, suction mount, and various SS drums that cut the cheese in a rotary fashion. It was probably manufactured in the 70's or early 80's and for the life of me I can't find one to buy like it. Let me know where i can find one.
Ode to a cheese grater. I am on a roll with my opus poems about Cheez Whiz and Cheese Nips. Do you like it? Will this cheesy poem be as Gouda as the others? I need to Swiss gears. Oh Cheese Grater Is there a greater love than thee? Locked away in a drawer Until you're called for Human ingrates Never appreciate you Until the tacos Beg for your Slivers of golden cheddar Making everything just A little bit beddar.. You slice and dice And never think twice About the cosmic Irony That awaits us all When we end up in That eternal drawer In the sky Lying next to the Potato peeler and Spatula. Oh cheese grater No greater love than thee.
Looking for an old Cheese Grater! Help!? My parents had this cheese grater that was ALL Stainless Steal, suction mount, and various SS drums that cut the cheese in a rotary fashion. It was probably manufactured in the 70's or early 80's and for the life of me I can't find one to buy like it. Let me know where i can find one. NKB, it's very similar to the 380cucina, but the one i'm thinking of has an all stainless steal body. But the layout is exactly the same. I want the orignal, or a factory rerun of the original. Everything they make now-a-days is cheap and breaks. You're close SuzanneM, but the one i'm thinking of is Freestanding. The base is round and suctions to the counter-top to stabablize it.
How do I clean a cheese grater? I have a five sided cheese grater that i use all the time. But the finest grates on it which are super tiny are frickin impossible to clean. Im thinking of buying a new one but i will have the same problem. Ive used knives, forks, foil. Nothing works. Soaked it a few times, doesnt work much. Ofcourse sponges and towels just get grated when i try it that way. I clean the inside of it, but the outside is still clogged. Yuck! Weird question to some probly, but not to those who use these things a lot, im sure u can relate!
Does anyone have a trick for cleaning cheese graters? I live in an apartment without a dishwasher and I'm looking for a trick to help me clean my box-grater and my microplane graters. I'm familiar with the concept of elbow-grease, but I'm wondering if anyone has a method for cleaning these devices easily without having to spend too much time scrubbing and scrubbing and destroying sponges. Any help? I also realize that it's technically off-topic here, but if anyone would have an answer, it would be you guys. Thanks.
Grated cheese without using a hand held cheese grater? I use a lot of grated cheese, but hate having to grate it. I do not like the preshredded cheese; to me it does not taste good. Regular graters hurt my hands (tire them out) and I am tired of having to do it. I have tried several of the 'as seen on tv' types of graters, and so far none work. They either aren't strong enough to shred a cheddar, or they clump monterey jack and get bogged down. Does anyone have any good ideas on what I can use? Something out there has to work on both hard and softer cheeses..... My food processor doesn't work well, and store brands (Albertsons) do not work either, I lump those in with as seen on tv types.
The Cheese Grater? I know a typical grater is made of 18/8 stainless steel. But the thing I want to know is how they shape this steel into a box , and how the sharp holes are made in such precision.. What is the type of machinery used and how does each machine work in producing the grater
