Parmesan Cheese? When in Italy I usually bring a big lump of parmesan cheese with me, but it tends to go mouldy quite quickly. How do I prevent it? I've tried different kinds of containers and even packed it with ice packs when I come home but nothing seems to help. Any tips at all?
How do you get parmesan cheese to stick to popcorn? I like popcorn with butter and parmesan but usually what I end up with is a bunch of parmesan at the bottom of the bowl! I've tried adding the cheese to the melted butter but it just doesn't stick! How do you get it to stay on the popcorn?
How long is fresh Parmesan cheese good for? My mom bought a small brick of fresh Parmesan cheese and we used part of it and the rest we put in a Tupperware container and in the fridge. She keeps telling me to use it up before it goes bad. On the other hand, my friend said it will last a long time. Does anybody know how long it's good for?
When a recipe calls for 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese? Are they wanting the cheese in the little shaker container? I don't recall seeing any fresh parmesan in the cheese section. But I never really looked for it. and our local yokel small town market is very limited in what it stocks. You wouldn't believe how limited our local market is and it's a 50 mile drive to the nearest Walmart Super Center. I'm a real country bumpkin. LOL
What goes well with block Parmesan Cheese? I bought a block of parmesan cheese, everything I've tried with the chunks I break off are either overpowered by the cheese or make it taste funny. I've tried triscuits (rosemary and olive oil), pickles and roasted chicken bits. Was very dry. Oh yeah, I want it to be snacky.

How to convert shredded parmesan cheese to grated? I have a recipe that calls for a cup of SHREDDED parm cheese, but I grabbed GRATED parm instead. How can I convert the shredded amount to grated amount? sorry--- i re-read my question, and it wasn't very clear! the recipe is for a crab-artichoke dip (cream cheese, mayo, onion, etc..) and it calls for 1 cup of shredded parm, but i have grated instead. i personally don't think a recipe can ever be too 'cheesy', but i was afraid that putting a whole cup of grated cheese instead of shredded may be overwhelming to some people. thanks for your answers! happy holidays!

Does anybody know the recipe for an Italian grated noodle made with semolina, parmesan cheese, parley and egg? My aunt used to make this every Christmas, and now that she's getting on in years, she can't remember how to make it and she's getting really frustrated. She's never been the type who could "improvise" so having the recipe is really important to her. The tricky part is in the proportion of cheese to semolina -- too much and it falls apart when you boil it in the soup. It also has to be "stiff" enough to grate. We don't know what it's called -- no other families we know make it. Thanks for your help!
Who loves spaghetti with ground beef, tomato sauce, Ragu spaghetti sauce and Parmesan cheese, besides me? Also, who loves pizza and a chef's salad, along with the spaghetti? The chef's salad with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles and either creamy or regular Italian dressing. The pizza, for me, would be either pepperoni &/or sausage w/cheese. To drink, it would be a soft drink, either coke, dr. pepper, 7 up, sprite or sierra mist. For dessert, it would be anything chocolate.
does anyone know a brand of fat free parmesan cheese? i see it in recipes all the time but i dont know what brand even sells this shit. i have a stomach condition in which i cannot tollerate saturated fat so finding a fat free parmesan would make me so happy becuse i could cook the things that i could not cook before.
hot parmesan cheese spread? Years ago I had a wonderful baked parmesan cheese spread. Main ingredient was the cheese, no other major ingredients, such as artichokes. Can anyone help.?? May have used cream cheese...not sure.
How long does parmesan cheese last? when its in the brick.. or its not really a brick, its more aof a triangle shape. but you know what i mean lol. how long will it last in the fridge untill it goes bad? i've had it since christmas
