Looking for recommendations for a meat grinder? We raw feed our pets. Raw feeding requires grinding meat, including the bones... mostly chicken... occasionally turkey... no beef. And I'm getting REAL tired of our old-timey hand grinder. Two models we are considering are: 1. Deni Commercial Food Grinder model 3500 (1HP – 800 watts) 2. Sam Baere model SB-810 (1HP) Does anyone have any experience with either of these two grinders... Why you like (or dislike) it? Any other recommendations that won't break the bank in cost? Thanks for your advice. Mike: Our vet is the one that encouraged us to do this. Pets do fine with RAW bones. It's the cooked ones that cause problems. Our pets are all gorgeous and thriving on this diet. And when you look at the cost of high quality commercial food and are careful where you buy the meat (we shoot for about $1/pound), the cost is about the same.
Looking for meat grinder? I've been in need of a meat grinder for processing wild game. I've looked through the Cabelas catalog but their prices are always so expensive and i'm not sure i would get my money's worth from them. What are some good name brands that commercial kitchens, etc. use? I would just be doing a couple deer and game birds. I was thinkin 3/4 HP? Where is a good place to buy them?
Name of Jazz song at the end of Sonos Commercial? I keep on seeing this ad on youtube. It's a sonos commercial in which a butcher who cutting probably parts of a speaker or vinyl. He throws them in a meat grinder or sausage grinder, and a speaker comes out the other side. Than this music starts to play. It's swing; it's pretty up tempo, and it's a male singer scatting. I've been trying to find the title and who its by but can't... Can someone please help? Thanks.
How many hours can a 16+ year old work in the U.S? I'm in need of a job and I don't know how many hours I'd be able to work. I was told and I read that 14-15 year olds in the U.S can only work a certain amount of hours. But once you're age 16+ you can work unlimited hours. Is this true? Heres what I read. "Sixteen- and 17-year-olds may be employed for unlimited hours in any occupation other than those declared hazardous by the Secretary of Labor. Examples of equipment declared hazardous in food service establishments include power-driven meat processing machines (meat slicers, saws, patty forming machines, grinders, or choppers), commercial mixers and certain power-driven bakery machines." And I got it from a pretty reliable website, but i'm not entirely sure. website: http://jobsearch.about.com/od/employmentlaw/a/childlaborlaw.htm If this is false, how many hours can I work?
Do many evil people hide their wickedness behind a religious façade? With feigned virtue and a pious act, He strode the halls with power unchecked. Greedy businessman, corrupt politician; Slimy media-man, commercial artist; They all stopped by and wished him well, For influence spreads like flame consumes. Beaten wife, molested child; Hopeless drunk, retired whore. Substance abuser, petty criminal; Grist for mill, meat for grinder, They served a purpose then became obsolete. Their value measured in dollar signs. But Sunday comes and the show must go on, He dons the robes and makes a face; The cattle file in chewing their cud; Their eyes show fear, their children cry. But they lack the courage to escape; They lack the will to be free. “God is angry,” sayeth he, “God is mad.” “God wants you to prayerfully consider;” “God wants you to give more money.” “God wants you to hate the innocent;” “God wants you to lie to your children,” “And God chose me as his voice on earth.”
How many hours can a 16 year old work? I know that teens that are 14-15 years old can't work more than 30 hours because of school hours. But I dropped out of school (don't judge.) SO I was wondering can I work the full 40 hours since I don't go to school? See because I read this and I was wondering if that's correct or if I'm being misinformed: "Sixteen- and 17-year-olds may be employed for unlimited hours in any occupation other than those declared hazardous by the Secretary of Labor. Examples of equipment declared hazardous in food service establishments include power-driven meat processing machines (meat slicers, saws, patty forming machines, grinders, or choppers), commercial mixers and certain power-driven bakery machines." Oh and I live in Florida if that makes a difference. Thanks.
homemade baby food questions....? How long can i keep pureed food in the fridge for? is it 2 or 3 days? I used to make it all ahead of time and freeze it, well now she is older and just eating "table food" so i just use the babyfood grinder at dinner to grind up what we eat. but for lunches i still like to puree up some veggies or fruits but freezing them in the ice trays is getting annoying now cause she is taking more of them, so i just wanna make a little at a time for a few days and keep it in fridge, but for how long? ALSO, how often do you feed your baby meats? My daughter is 8 months now and i know she is needing to eat meat but how much and how often, and also what do you make for your baby? I've pureed chicken for her before but what else is good? I hate using the commercial baby foods, like gerber unless I have too, i do keep 4-5 of them on hand incase i need them. but can i carry some food i made from home with me in the diaper bag, in like a little cooler if i am at a mexican rest. or fast food?
Rottweiler Raw Diet Please help? Hi, i have a 2 year old rottweiler, and i want to switch from commercial dry dog food to raw homemade diet, and would like some help with the list from which meat( prefer beef like steak or ground beef or chicken breast,) and what i need to use for the food etc etc. i tried the primal raw beef beefore, he did fine, but i got lazy ( i know its a bad thing) and the frozen beef from primal( pre-made raw diet) expired, so few weeks ago i went back to the store where i bought the beef from, and wanted to try Lamb, same day i bought it he vomitted back out ( i gave her half of it only) then i found out i shouldnt mix dry dog food with it( but i did that with the raw beef one and he did fine) so, i stopped for a week and within that week i just gave him his dry dog food i usually give him because im guessing hes not use to eating lamb, usually i give him beef or chicken breast(cooked chicken breast.) i really want to switch fto raw diet. i am thinking about going back to the store today and get the beef one, but i really hope someone can help me with the list so i can make it myself instead as i heard its better to make the raw diet yourself. here is a list of questions i hope someone with a rottweiler that they make the raw diet food at home instead of the pre-made ones. 1. what kind of grinder or w/e do i need and where can i get this at to grind the meat/veggies together? ive never fed my dog raw food besides using primal brand which are pre-made, so please be more specific on how much do i give him to start off, etc etc. thanks :) 2. i bought the salmon oil which has omega 3/6 fatty acids, and i give him the Pet tabs ( i think thats what its called, i dont have the bottle with me atm) and it has pretty much all the vitamins/minerals. do i need anything else? is the salmon oil same as fish oil? 3. do i really need to mix the raw meat lets say beef with organs? what kinda of organs? can i just give him raw beef or chicken with veggies or do i need to add something else other then salmon oil? 4. since this is my first time making homemade raw diet, how much should i start with to completely switch over? since i cant mix raw meat with the dry dog food, do i just give a certain amount of raw meat per meal itself? and can i give him raw steak? * the meat only ofcourse not including the fats. if i want steak should i slice it intt bite size pieces or just trim the fat and toss it to him to eat it? 5. is there a time line i need to know like if i feed him a raw diet meal in the morning, do i feed him again 6hrs later? since i heard raw diet digest around 5-6 hrs and dry dog food takes about 10hrs? i dont know thats what i read, dont know if thats right. atm, im feeding royal canin, i use to .feed him wellness, but i guess hes picky and he lost some weight until i switched to a new dry dog food and he gained weight. i have Orijen, i give him some here and there mixed in with royal canin some times, but im gonna switch him over to Orijen soon as roal canin is about to run out( i still have alot lol.) but i really really want to feed my rottweiler homemade raw diet instead tho. please help. thanks for reading and answering my questions ( hopefully) Thanks, btw eggs, do i crack it and mix it with the meal including the yolk? or no? can i just give him only the meat itself? or do i really need to add the organs and bones? and for the bones, which kinda bones, and do i need to grind up the bones or what? what kind of organs and is there a specific kind? like chicken heart/liver etc. etc. or just any kind?
