scared of cheese graters?

I am so insanely scared of cheese graters I can't be in the room when anyone is grating something. I know it is completly and totally irrational but does anyone else know how I feel? 4. Some people have phobias of strange things. If it truly disrupts your life, you should see a psychiatrist.
5. Not really. But I do have an irrational fear of things in costumes (like Santa & The Easter Bunny). Don't worry about it. The whole world if filled with weirdos.. you're fine. :o)

9. I don't have that fear totally, but I do know what you mean. I don't like graters. I feel like if I use them, I'll end up grating a bit of my knuckles off or something. Those things can HURT!
10. no i do not know how u feel cause i am not scared of an inatimate object. its a fucking cheese grater.....what the fuck happened in ur life that made u scared of a cheese grater? did ur uncle molest u with one? that had to have hurt. or was it ur dad? that must have been even worse....u need psychological help.
11. Yes!! I still use cheese graters, but once I had this dream that someone was chasing me with a cheese grater trying to shred the skin off my body and kill me.
12. no i dont... y r u afraid of them? it might help if u look at pictures of them online... then slowly start looking at the real thing, then maybe one day you could use one... their not that sharp, as long as you keep ur fingers away from the edge of the cheese your grating, you'll be fine
13. I don't know your specific situation there with "cheese graters"....all I know is that if you're gonna use these kitchen equiptments..you should use 'em properly, you have to make sure your fingers aren't in the way while grating.
14. Yea, i know how you feel (just not with cheese graters) I have had many odd fears of my own, which scare me to death. If your fear gets even worse, you should try seeing a worry/anxiety pshychyatrist (if thats how you spell it). They have planty of methods to make you get over your fear. Hope this helps =]

17. Well, I'm not afraid of cheese graters, but I do have a healthy respect for grain augers ever since a neighbor boy lost his arm to one during harvest time. My stomach just gets jittery when one is in operation, so I tend to leave the area. Which ones sets your teeth on edge, the hand graters or the electric ones? Have you ever tried to desensitize yourself?
