Looking for an old Cheese Grater! Help!?
My parents had this cheese grater that was ALL Stainless Steal, suction mount, and various SS drums that cut the cheese in a rotary fashion. It was probably manufactured in the 70's or early 80's and for the life of me I can't find one to buy like it. Let me know where i can find one. NKB, it's very similar to the 380cucina, but the one i'm thinking of has an all stainless steal body. But the layout is exactly the same. I want the orignal, or a factory rerun of the original. Everything they make now-a-days is cheap and breaks. You're close SuzanneM, but the one i'm thinking of is Freestanding. The base is round and suctions to the counter-top to stabablize it.

- I think this is the one you are talking about. - Try Robert Dyas, the hardware store. What you're looking for is probably what was known as a "Mouli-Grater". I've had one for years. It's not suction mounted, but it does have three small drums - two for grating and one for slicing.
- http://www.kasbahouse.com/villawareonline/cheesegraters.asp look about 1/2 way down the page...is this one it?? It has the suction foot. Will check back for update. I hate to say it but I have been looking for about 20 minutes now and that is the closest I have found. If you are interested in electric, this one has the stainless body you are looking for. http://cgi.ebay.com/Frieling-Stainless-Steel-Electric-Cheese-Grater_W0QQitemZ110127648155QQihZ001QQcategoryZ134727QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem there is also this higher priced one http://www.1-800-espresso.com/gensaco-gs-cheese-grater.html
- I know what you are talking about, my grandma has one and I am obsessed with it, it has three legs that fold out and stick to the table, and she put wax paper under it to catch the cheese or nuts-whatever she was chopping. Then it had a handle on top that you turn around? I stole the one from my grandparents, my grandma said she bought hers with greenbacks from the grocery store!
