- You need a dish brush, the one that has a handle, knob that holds soap. The bristles are strong and will get to the crevices of your grater.
- I keep an old toothbrush under the kitchen sink for chores like this. Brush from the non-pointy side and the bristles will pook through the holes and clean them out.
- 1. I usually use a non-stick cooking spray prior to using the grater as it makes cleaning much easier; 2. then, I use a toothbrush to brush out the food from those hard to reach spots. If the food you grated is really stuck on there, brush with a kitchen brush (the bristles are harder than the toothbrush). 3. If the food is really sticky, just grater a lime or lemon (no zest) as it helps to dislodge the stuck on food. Then rinse off and brush with the toothbrush 4. Soak it in warm soapy water & rinse of thoroughly.
- boil a pot of water with a touch of detergent and place the grater inside of the water for a few minutes.
- Soak it in regular bleach and dish detergent to break up what ever you used the grater for in the sink. Then use a bristle brush ( you know the kind folks use to clean baby bottles with, it has a long handle on one end and bristles on the other end. Give it a try.
