  1. That's what the Chef Boyardee mixes use - just parmesan!
  2. I wouldnt think so, but maaybe.... parm cheese tends not to melt as well as the traditional mozzerella or white chedder, which is why you don't often see it as the main cheese on pizzaria pizzas. It might be kind of dry and oily when it melts, instead of chewy and moist.
  3. No, that's not going to work very well. Your best bet would be to run to the store and get some more mozz.
  4. It won't melt as well, the texture will be different, and it will be WAY saltier. Don't replace in equal proportions. Use a lot less Parmesan than you would mozzarella.
  5. you wont have the creamy top but yes it's a good substitute if you have processed cheese you can add that as well just rest a few slices on each portion until melted do this at the last minute this way it wont burn .
  6. It's much stronger and saltier then the usual cheeses, and as a hard cheese is won't melt the same.. My suggestion - instead of sauce just brush the pizza with olive oil (or use a very little amount of sauce) put on the ingredients you plan to add to your pizza and then just sprinkle on a little of the cheese.
  7. nah it wouldnt melt and i dont think it would be so desirable because you wont havet he cheese stringing from the pizza into your mouth come on thats the best part.
  8. No. It is a very dry cheese and doesn't melt very easily And too much would be way too strong in flavor
  9. If you use the real Parmigiano Reggiano - yum...if you have an immitiation, substitution or misreprisentation of parmesan (basically anything that is NOT parmigiano reggiano would be considered this) then it could turn out ok. But in my opinion, you need a good melting cheese and a harder cheese for texture. Heck you can even have a blue cheese pizza with pears and caramelized walnuts. There are no rules...make your own rules...and have fun with pizza and for God's sake stay away from processed cheeses! yuck...try some real artisan cheeses or some buffalo mozarella
