- Use the grater but just be careful not to cut into the pith. The pith is the white part under the skin of the citrus fruit. That would really pith me off! LOL You can use any side of the grater you want, but the side with the smallest holes will probably work the best. Or, you can use a vegetable peeler to slice thin slices which can then be cut up with a knife.
- use the fine grater side, just be careful with the pressure. happy cooking!
- If you have a potatoe peeler, lightly peel the green skin off the lime, leaving the white pith on the fruit and then finely finely mince the skin.
- wash it roll it a few times on the counter than use you grater just skim it and don't put any pressure on it and your good to go use it in your dish that you are cooking just don't use alot and and you will be fine
- Peel the lime with a vegetable peeler and then thinly slice with a sharp knife.
- gently use the small grater side for fine grates cheese not the nail hole looking side. gently rub the lime down the fine grater and turn with each stroke.
- Get a microplane. It is so worth it. Just got mine and it makes all the difference in the world. Sooooo much faster not to mention the fact that you won't get any part of the lime that you don't want. Trust me. It's the best tool in my drawer. If you have a Cost Plus around you, it is around $12. Best price in town. I do my research.
