- Cottage cheese is less fattening than Parmesan, in equal amounts. But I think either would taste like crap on pizza. Go with a reduced-fat mozarella instead.
- cottage by far
- Yes it will greatly they make low fat and fat free cottage cheese as well. I cant promise the pizza will taste any good but it will definatly be much better for you.
- Yes, if you used the same amount and it was low-fat cottage cheese. But it wouldn't taste very good. Mozarella is the usual cheese on pizza. To reduce calories, just use less of it, and more other topping - particularly veggies. Peperami and ham aren't exactly low-fat.
- cottage cheese on a pizza=bad idea!!! ever notice that cottage cheese is not like other cheeses? thats because it isnt a cheese, it is bacteria! of sorts... parmesean is worse for you, and, if you use cottage cheese, youll end up calling for delivery
- i would use sargento's parmesan cheese. it is pretty low in fat compared to other parmesan cheeses. the only drawback is that it is a little drier than other parmesan cheeses. check it out, i use it on chili and other stuff that goes well with cheese and i too am watching my weight.
- mozarella, and for extra flavor sprinkle a little parmesan. also make them with fresh veggies and not that much cheese....not as delicious as 2cheese but way healthier.try too find real italian mozarella!you can also sprinkle oregano or basil on the pies!also try to make the dough thin, you will save bread calories.have fun!!!
- to make less fattening/healthier pizzas, I can offer a few suggestions: 1. Use whole wheat tortilla wraps or wheat pitas as the crust (you can have both depending on if people like thin or thick crust). You can also use wheat English muffins and have mini pizzas (even have people put their own toppings on at the "topping bar". 2. Buy sugar free or reduced sugar tomato or pizza sauce. If you buy tomato sauce, just add "Italian Seasoning" to it 3. Use fat free mozzarella I have served all of the above to family and friends and everyone comments that they taste great and they can't believe that they are healthy.
- Cheese was once considered fattening but with the popularity of low-carbohydrate diets , cheese is back on the plate of many dieters. In softer cheeses, cottage cheese wins the battle with 14 grams of protein and only 5 grams of fat. Cottage cheese has a very high whey protein content. Whey protein helps to enhance immune function and also the calcium absorption in bones. In Italian cheeses, Mozzarella cheese wins the battle with 4 grams of fat. Parmesan packs in 10grams of fat and also has a high sodium content. If you'd ask me, I'd go for Mozzarella cheese because Cottage cheese is a no-no for pizzas. So go ahead and have a great pizza party ! And you and your friends get rid of the notion that cheese is a sin for dieters. Have fun :)
