is it ok to let a 2 year old play with a cheese grater?

im asking because my nephew likes playing with a cheese grater, ecspecially under the sink. infact he pretends the steak knife is a princess trapped in the cheese grater tower LOL. how adorable..but anyway i read in baby magazine that cheese graters were bad for children. so what do you think? should i just let him play under the sink with just the steak knife instead?

14. Letting him play with either is being irresponsible and immature in assuming he will not or can not injure himself. Even a cheese grater could cut his fingers or tongue if he plays with it that way causing hours of pain and screaming. What if while playing the steak knife poked him in the eye but only a half inch deep? what then?
