How is a cheese grater a wedge?

I'm doing a science project and i don't understand it fully. i understand how to USE a cheese grater. i have to explain how it is a wedge in science. and i've tried researching and can't find anything.

1. it,s shaped like a wedge , long time ago you would ask for a wedge of pie it came out like a triangle i guess the wedge shape calling stuck although triangle would be more accurate,..maybe they kept the wedge name for food stuffs.
2. If you look at each blade on the grater, you will see that they are all small wedges. Sometimes, all you have to do to understand something is actually look at it closely.
