Is there any way to make Alfredo sauce without parmesan cheese?

I have a lot of other ingredients, such as different milks, creams, cheeses (including havarti), you name it, but the only ingredient I seem to be missing is parmesan. Any other ways to make alfredo sauce?

  1. Classic Alfredo always has Pamesan. You could probably pick some up at a 711 or something.
  2. Try it with havarti! Live dangerously, it might turn out to be the best thing you've ever made. I would, however, try this recipe and substitute the havarti for the parmesan...let me know how it works out! Creamy Alfredo Sauce 8 ounces dry fettuccine pasta 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese 1/2 cup margarine 1/2 cup milk 1 teaspoon garlic powder 1/4 teaspoon dried basil 1 pinch ground nutmeg Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain. In a medium saucepan, combine cream cheese, Parmesan, margarine, milk, garlic powder and basil and stir over low heat until smooth and creamy, 10 to 15 minutes. Toss sauce with pasta and sprinkle with nutmeg. Serve. This recipe is rich, wonderful, and always comes out right! It also heats up well the next day....
  3. while it would not be a classic or traditional Alfredo sauce you could use another white cheese instead of Parmesan
