I have a cheese grater with very close, tight blades. This is fine except that it takes a lot of work to clean it. When I use a dishrag or a brillo pad, the blades cut it without cleaning it. The cheese particles are still stuck inside the grater.

You grate some hard bread. I think I saw it on Martha Stewart or Rachel Ray; forget which. Then rinse and air dry.
