How do you get the carrot pulp out of the grater of the large juice extractor?

I have a big juice extractor which I use to make fresh carrot juice, but when I have finished juicing the carrots and pull apart the juicer I cannot get all the fine carrot pieces from the sharp grater. I have tried just soaking it in water first.

1. i would let it dry out then tap it on the counter and the dried carrot-powder-grateings would fall out. anything left over i was stuck with and just let it be.
