Why do road graters have front wheels that can be tilted over, sometimes it looks like up to 45 degrees?

1. Two reasons. It allows them to turn sharper. Road graders are mostly used with the blade at a sharp angle. This has a tendancy to pull the front end in the direction of the angle. Angling the front tires in the opposite direction fights that tendancy.
