Graters

How do you make coconut flakes?

I have already opened and peeled a mature coconut. How do I make coconut flakes to enjoy as a snack? I don't have a grater of any kind. Do I have to sweeten? Also, how long will this last unrefrigerated? It's still raw and refrigerated.

  1. If you don't have a grater than you have alot of cutting to do. Just keep sliceing them into very small pieces then let them dry out. While there drying, sprinkled white sugar on them. It'll give them more flavor. They should last a long time, a few months at least i'd say.
  2. yumm i love coconut. im pretty sure u need a grater 4 that :]
  3. Do you have any rasps in the garage that you haven't used yet?
  4. buy them
  5. you have to cook the coconut.. did you bake it in the oven till it split or did you split it raw? in any case you need to cook it first and then you may be use a potato peeler to slice it thin I think you can add some superfine sugar to sweeten it if you like but it is usually good just like it is.. as for how long it will last.. depends on how warm it is where you are.. with no refridgeration I dont think it will last long.
